About GA Commercial
GA Commercial supplies, installs and services commercial laundry and catering equipment for businesses across the Midlands and beyond. Its engineers are on the road every day, so reliable vans are essential to the service it gives its customers.
The challenge: from renting vans to running its own fleet
Under commercial director Scott Moore, GA Commercial decided to stop renting vehicles and take on its own vans for the first time. The aim was a modern, reliable fleet that the business controls, without tying up cash that’s needed to run and grow the company.
The brief was clear:
- Keep the upfront cost as low as possible, so money stays in the business
- Avoid paying VAT in one lump at the start
- Move quickly, to meet the supplier’s delivery timescales
How Boost structured the van finance
We arranged the three Renault Trafic vans on a finance lease over 48 months, using a 1 + 47 payment profile. That means one monthly payment upfront as the deposit, followed by 47 monthly payments.
- A very low deposit: just one payment upfront, rather than a large lump sum, keeping cash in GA Commercial’s own account
- No VAT upfront: with a finance lease, VAT is charged on each monthly rental rather than on the full price of the van at the start
- Fixed monthly payments that make budgeting simple
Our strong relationship with the supplier, Vanaways, helped keep everything moving. We proposed the deal and had it accepted on the same day, and the finance was paid out the same week, in line with the supplier’s expectations.
The result: a newer, more reliable fleet
- Healthier cash flow: the low deposit and monthly VAT left more working capital in the business
- Fewer repairs: newer vans mean less time off the road and lower maintenance costs
- Happy drivers: GA Commercial’s team has given positive feedback on the new vans
- Room to grow: in July 2026 GA Commercial came back to Boost to fund another van, adding to the fleet
