Unlock the Cash in Your Assets
Many businesses have tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds tied up in trucks, vans, plant and machinery. Asset refinance lets you release that value as cash while the assets keep working. It can fund growth, a new contract, a tax bill or a quiet season, and it can also be used to restructure or consolidate existing finance agreements into more manageable payments.

Ways to refinance your assets
Equity release
Raise cash against assets you own outright. The lender buys the asset and sells it back to you on hire purchase, or lends against it.
Refinance existing finance
Settle a current agreement and replace it with a new one, to lower the monthly payment, extend the term or release any equity built up.
Consolidate agreements
Bring several finance agreements together into one, with one monthly payment that is easier to manage.
How it works
From valuation to cash in the bank
- Tell us what you own: the assets, their age and any finance still outstanding
- Valuation: the lender values the assets, usually from details and photos, sometimes with an inspection
- Offer: you get an amount you can release and the monthly payments to repay it
- Payout: any existing finance is settled and the balance is paid to your business
- Keep working: the assets stay with you and keep earning throughout

What can be refinanced?
HGVs, vans & trailers
Tractor units, rigids, tippers, trailers and van fleets, usually up to a certain age at the end of the agreement.
Plant & machinery
Excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, cranes, production lines and CNC machinery.
Specialist equipment
Agricultural machinery, recycling plant and other assets with a resale value.
What businesses use it for
Growth & new contracts
Fund staff, materials or new equipment to take on bigger work.
Cash flow
Cover a tax or VAT bill, or bridge a seasonal dip in trade.
Lower monthly outgoings
Restructure existing agreements to reduce what you pay each month.

Things to consider
Your assets are security
The refinanced assets secure the agreement. They could be repossessed if you don’t keep up repayments.
Longer terms cost more overall
Spreading or extending payments can lower your monthly outgoings but may increase the total amount you repay.

Asset Refinance FAQs
What is asset refinance?
Asset refinance releases cash from vehicles, plant or machinery your business already owns. The lender buys or lends against the asset, pays you the agreed amount, and you repay it monthly while you keep using the asset.
Can I refinance an asset that still has finance on it?
Often, yes. If the asset is worth more than the outstanding balance, the existing finance is settled and any equity is released to you, or the agreement is restructured to lower your payments.
How much can I release?
It depends on the value, age and condition of the assets and on your business. Lenders typically release a percentage of the assets’ current value, less any finance outstanding.
How quickly can I get the money?
Straightforward refinances with clear valuations can often complete quickly once the lender has the asset details and your business information. We’ll give you a realistic timescale at the start.
Do I keep using the assets?
Yes. The assets stay with you and keep working throughout the agreement.
What can I use the money for?
Any legitimate business purpose, including growth, new contracts, stock, staff, tax and VAT bills, or reducing other borrowing.
Can I refinance my car?
For cars, see our car equity release and refinance page.
